Mission

体育投注注册The mission of the Union Athletic Department is to help our student-athletes reach their highest academic and athletic potential; to inspire champions today and prepare leaders for tomorrow.

Union Athletics Begins Phase One Activities

体育投注注册Beginning JUNE 8, 2020 –

Athletics will return to most activities with the restrictions and guidelines, starting Monday, June 8. All sports must first adhere to the rules set forth in the OSSAA manual for their respective sport.  The situation surrounding COVID-19 is fluid and Athletics may need to make adjustments.

Emily Barkley“We are excited but certainly cautious about restarting athletic activities here at Union,” Athletics Director Emily Barkley said.  “We recognize that our student-athletes and staff are ready to get to work, reconnect and start the process of training towards their goals. The safety and health of our student-athletes and staff and their families as well as the Union community will always be our priority.  We are hopeful that we can progress forward through these phases as our ultimate goal is to be able to safely participate in uninterrupted athletic competition throughout the 2020-2021 school year.”

体育投注注册 “We conducted our mandatory COVID-19 training with our coaches all week, in small group settings.  In addition to our daily temperature taking and screening questions, we are requiring a COVID-19 Athlete Pre-Screen for any student-athlete that will be training on campus this summer for any reason.  We have worked closely with our athletic training staff, our coaches, and our administration to ensure a smooth and safe restart to activities, which will be June 8th for many of our activities.”

Note: Not every sport will restart June 8. For specific questions about the summer activities offered for your respective sport, contact your student-athletes’ coach for clarification.
